Claughton House Dickwella

The Story Behind the Stay

Perched on a hilltop amidst 8 acres of walled-in gardens Claughton House Dickwella, designed by Geoffrey Bawa, is an example of intelligent architecture. Entering the house your vision is channeled towards the views across the treetops and out to sea. From the dining table, you are drawn down the slope towards the huge pool that has an infinity edge to merge with the ocean. A poolside pavilion and BBQ will ensure most of the day is spent here but you could venture down some steps to the private gate and onto the beach for seasonally safe swimming and surfing.

The 5 bedrooms are air-con and the ensuite has views across the gardens and out to sea. 3 master king suites, all ensuite with indoor/outdoor showers + 2 further suites with up to 7 single beds. All suites are air-conditioned. The 5th bedroom has the TV room as an entrance. There is a dedicated yoga shala and massage room and table tennis table.

Set in the rocks on a lower level of the immaculate lawn, lies the pool terrace, with views out to sea, complete with BBQ and poolside dining pavilion, day bed, and sun loungers. Overlooking the surf break, Claughton House Dickwella provides the perfect spot to unwind and recharge.
