Bundala National Park
Bundala, a RAMSAR wetland, is renowned as one of Sri Lanka’s best bird watching locations- with migratory greater flamingoes, whistling teal, gargeny, Asian openbill, painted stork & black headed ibis
Lying within the South-Eastern dry zone, the Yala National Park is the most popular destination for game-watching in Sri Lanka. Its landscape and topography range from dense scrub jungle, to open plains and rocky outcrops which provide habitat to 45 mammalian and 215 bird species.
The Kiri Vehera takes its name from its gleaming white structure which stands 95-feet tall. During his 3rd visit, Lord Buddha delivered a sermon here.
