There is apparently a carving of King Rawana made into a rock-face overlooking the Ella-Wellawaya Road near Rawana Falls. The Rawana carving is badly weathered but some believe it to be there, albeit the inaccessibility of the place makes it all the more doubtful as to whether it is a real statue or just an artifact of geological processes. Ella has numerous Ramayana-related places but it is hard to know if any are genuine.
