Situated off Kegalle, the Salgala Sanctuary is a wet zone forest reserve rich in bird life. Here birding enthusiasts can look forward to sighting a number of rare species such as the white-rumped shama, black-headed cuckoo shrike, Tickell’s blue flycatcher, common hill mynah, yellow-fronted barbet, and the endemic grey hornbill.
