The Garandi Waterfalls of Ramboda, specifically in the Nuwara Eliya District, are named after the shape of its cascade. It literally snakes across the rocks, dividing in two and meeting up once more nearing the bottom. In Sinhala, the word “garandi” means rat snake, a slim nonpoisonous serpent that has a distribution spanning the entire island. The waterfall itself is 100 meters tall.
