North of Trincomalee, the highlight of Nilaveli beach is its decidedly peaceful environment. It’s unspoilt, broad beach provides for hours of unwinding and relaxing at your own pace or just long, quiet walks along the sands soaking in the sun. The calm, shallow waters make for excellent swimming and just offshore, Pigeon Island and its surrounding reef is teeming with colourful reef fish providing stunning snorkeling action.
