Anuradhapura is the earliest recorded capital of Sri Lanka, a title which it held for more than a thousand years. A World heritage site, its immense dagobas and elaborate stone sculptures, are essentially a physical ode to Buddhism. In this four-hour tour, your guide will introduce you to some of the iconic structures in this sacred city, the stories behind the creations of these monuments, and their architectural influences. This is a peaceful and beautiful city, and we highly recommend exploring this city on bikes to make it a memorable experience.
Since you will be visiting places of worship, we recommend modest clothing with knees and shoulders covered. In the event you plan on wearing shorts, remember to bring a sarong.
